Michael W. Belson
Michael William Belson, age 68, of Perris, CA., closed his eyes to rest the evening of February 4, 2022 at 8:22pm. He was born in Erie, PA. on November 26, 1953, the son of the late Jacob and Myrabel (Sparling) Belson. He was the second of 5 children, growing up mainly in Chautauqua County, NY., raising heck with his 4 brothers and sisters.
He always had a natural mechanical ability and strong work ethic that led him into the field of diesel mechanics. Together with his first wife, Sandy, they shared 2 lovely daughters, the light of Mike’s life.
As sometimes happens, his life ultimately led him in another direction, to California. There, he started working as a diesel mechanic for Corona Trucking. As this business evolved into Las Vegas/LA Express, his expertise and workhorse ethic earned him the position of Shop Manager/lead mechanic, where he would work for more than 40 years. But he was so much more than a set of strong arms and deep knowledge of mechanics. He made friends with everyone he worked with, as he had a way of making people feel comfortable and important to him. His mischievous grin drew you in; his loyal friendship kept you close.
He married his second wife, Kay (Nova Katherine) in 1988. They settled down, buying a home in Perris, CA, where they entertained family and friends and shared their love of animals, good food, and football. Go Green Bay!
Several months after Kay’s passing, he met Tamara Lyn (Christopher) in 2007. They became close, sharing motorcycle rides and a love of both NASCAR and football. They married in 2018, and were together until the end.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Myrabel Belson; daughter Debora L. Grien; brother Terry L. Belson (Ruth); sister Linda M. Horton; and wife Nova K. Belson.
He is survived by his wife Tami Belson of Perris, CA.; daughter Holly Brightman (Tim) of Ripley, NY.; brother Jacob Belson of Jurupa Valley, CA.; sisters Tina Chimera (Joe) of Westfield, NY. and Judy Eisert (Neil) of Erie, PA; and step-children Robert Barton of Riverside, CA., Kirsten Valdez (Alex) of Perris, CA., William Stephens also of Perris, CA. And "bonus son" John Aubin of San Bernardino CA.
He is very much loved and will be missed by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Rip Mikey, til we meet again!
