Wylene Mitchell

Wylene Mitchell, 87, of Riverside California, died peacefully in her sleep on January 1, 2024.

 
She was born in Ocilla, Georgia in 1935, to Jodie and Mattie Will Mitchell.  At the age of 1 year, her mother passed and she was sent to live with her paternal Aunt Nell (Elizabeth) and Elbert Young in Washington, D.C.  In her early adult years, she lived with her sister, Josie for a short period of time and enjoyed family dinners and outings around the town. Ultimately, due to long-term medical issues, she went back to CalOaks Senior Living facility in California and resided there until her death.

Wylene was preceded in death by her parents and sister Josie Lee White and is survived by her niece, Jacqueline Rose and nephew, Vincent White, a host of second and third nieces and nephews and extended relatives and friends.

We encourage a silent moment of reflections in lieu of a homegoing celebration.  Wylene's ashes will be interred with her sister at Cleveland Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
