Richard (Dick) Edward Trapp, Jr., 74, passed in peace on Monday February 17, 2020, at his home in Mira Loma, CA.
He was born on September 28, 1945 in Lafayette, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his father Richard E. Trapp and wife Lois, and mother Marie (Linder) Barrett and husband James.
Dick had been self employed for many years, his party rental business, Richard E Trapp Jr’s Festivals Shows and Events. His reputation of being on time and providing clean quality equipment endeared him to his many regular clients. In years past he had raised quarter horses, and built, drove and/or sponsored stock cars and dragsters. In his younger years he was an avid hunter. He was a strong supporter of 4H and FFA programs.
Survived by his wife of 44 years, Lora Trapp, and children: Kimberly and James Schnepp, Gerald & Kim Darding, Timothy and Desiree Trapp, and Donald and Jill Trapp, twelve grandchildren: Andy, Tony, Kristen, Jacklyn, Kassie, Emily, Beth Timmy, Becca, Savannah, Liese and Heather, five great-grandchildren: Oliver, Bane, Kimber, Katherine and Juliette. Further survived by sisters Diana and Steve Dacy, and Debbie and Norm Cunningham, mother in law Helen Tucker, and step siblings Marvin H. and Vikki Shaffer, Gordon L. Shaffer, Frieda S. and Kevin Gascho, & Linda Shaffer, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
Dick will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving father, doting grandfather and as the “Redneck Hoosier Hillbilly” from Indiana. He was known for his many collections of coin banks, cookie jars, steins, and mugs.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March, 15, 2020 at 2:00pm at the Mike Raahauge Shooting Enterprises Pavilion, 14995 River Road, Corona, CA 92880
