Naeem Abdul-Saboor, age 78, passed on November 11, 2022. He arrived in this world on August 17, 1944, as Theodis Walker to Charley and Lucendia Walker in Memphis, Tennessee.
He spent his youth in Memphis, TN. When he became a young adult, he decided to move to Buffalo, New York. Where he was drafted to the Army in 1965 and honorably discharged in 1967. He said “the military saved him” which then changed the trajectory of his life and placed him on a different path
He moved to Los Angeles, CA, where he embraced the Islam faith and officially changed his name to Naeem Abdul-Saboor. He attended Los Angeles City College and obtained an Associate Degree. Later he relocated to Riverside, CA and made it his permanent home.
Naeem was a giving, caring and a selfless soul, compassionate and a loving man. He shared his passion for life by encouraging and mentoring others. Smart and observant, almost to a fault, Naeem was very precise and would describe himself as occasionally being “stubborn.” In later years he was man of few words. He meant what he said and said what he meant.
He often said, “we will make it through” We will all miss him more than words can say, and we will make it through.
“He created the heavens and earth in truth and formed you and perfected your forms; and to him is the final destination”. “Naeem has returned to Allah (God).
“You never said I’m leaving, you never said goodbye. You were gone before we knew it, and only God knew why. A million times we needed you, a million times we cried. If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died. In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place that no one could ever fill. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God took you home.” Author Unknown.
