Michael Irvin Zimmerman, known affectionately to his friends and family as Mike, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024, in Riverside County, at the age of 81. Born on October 23, 1942, in Los Angeles County, Mike grew up with a vibrant spirit that would define his entire life.
Mike was the beloved son of the late William and Ardelle Zimmerman, and he carried their legacy of kindness and resilience throughout his life. He was a cherished brother to Jerry Zimmerman, who preceded him in death, along with his daughter Tracy Lynn Zimmerman and is survived by his siblings Larry Zimmerman, Ardith Zimmerman, and Sally Zimmerman Turley. His radiant presence will be greatly missed by his loving daughter, Wendy Zimmerman Michaud, and his five grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
A proud graduate of Paramount High School, Mike completed his 12th grade education before embarking on a fulfilling career as a licensed electrician. His craftsmanship and dedication to excellence were evident in every project he undertook. Mike's professional life was marked by a strong work ethic and a natural ability to connect with his colleagues and those he served.
Mike's interests were a true reflection of his joyful and outgoing nature. An avid camper and fisherman, he found solace and adventure in the great outdoors. His love for Ballard's was well-known, and he could often be found recounting tales of his escapades with a good-humored chuckle. Mike's zest for life was infectious, and he was always the life of the party, bringing laughter and warmth to any gathering.
Those who knew Mike would describe him as funny, friendly, and handy. He had an uncanny ability to fix just about anything, and his willingness to lend a helping hand was unparalleled. His sense of humor was a gift that he generously shared, brightening the days of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Mike's legacy is one of joy, companionship, and an unwavering commitment to his family and friends. He navigated life's challenges with a smile and an unshakable positive outlook that inspired everyone around him. As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children... to leave the world a bit better... to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Mike embodied this sentiment in every aspect of his life, and his success is measured by the love and laughter he left behind.
As we say goodbye to Mike Zimmerman, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved. His memory will continue to guide and uplift us, just as his spirit did in life. Though he may be gone from this world, the stories, the joy, and the love he shared will remain with us forever.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Mike Zimmerman, you have left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew you, and your legacy will shine on through the generations. Rest in peace, dear Mike, until we meet again.
