In Loving Memory of Martha Lee Rountree
Martha Lee Rountree, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Jurupa Valley, California, on January 6, 2024. She was born on February 18, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio, to Clarence and Ruby Turner.
"Martha was a devoted wife to Gary Rountree and a loving mother to Jamie (Rebekah) Priddy and Jill (Tieg) Lancaster. She also embraced her role as a stepmother to Robert (Letty) Rountree, Keith (Krista) Rountree, and Kimberly Rountree. Martha's love and legacy extended to her 12 grandchildren.
She is survived by her sister Jill Turner and preceded in death by her brother Roy Turner."
From an early age, Martha showed a passion for dance and dedicated years to training. Eventually, she opened her own dance studio in Louisville, Kentucky, where she shared her love for tap, ballet, and jazz. Not only was Martha skilled in dance, but she was also a talented seamstress, creating beautiful clothing, dance costumes, and formal dresses. Her hands-on approach extended to business, where she, alongside her husband, owned and operated a successful conveyor-building company for 36 years.
Martha was known for her selflessness, always putting others' needs before her own. Her interests were diverse, including gardening, antiques, and cooking—especially her family's cherished spaghetti sauce recipe. She was a gracious host, known for throwing annual Kentucky Derby Parties for many years.
A dedicated supporter of her grandchildren, Martha never missed an opportunity to cheer them on, whether on the sidelines, in the audience, or online. Her sense of humor was unparalleled, and she shared many laughs with those closest to her. Martha's love for animals, rooted in her upbringing with 4H, extended to her cats and dogs.
She treasured sentimental items, particularly those crafted by her parents or meaningful antiques. Martha Lee Rountree leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a heart that touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Martha's life will be held January 24, 2024 from 2:00-3:00 PM at Rubidoux Mortuary in Riverside, CA.
May she rest in peace.
