MARIA L ALVAREZ

Maria Louisa Alvarez 93, a beacon of warmth and kindness, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2024, in Riverside, California. Born in Crystal City, Texas, Maria's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and enduring friendships.

Maria moved with her husband from Texas to Southern California in the late 40s to settle and raise a family of 6 children.
Maria had a long career of 25 years working as a supervisory inspector of relay components for the aerospace industry, she received awards for her work that contributed to the US space shuttle program.
Despite working a full-time job, she always had time to take her kids to the movies, parks and church on Sundays.
After retiring (her kids having grown up), she moved back to Crystal City and always loved spending time with her family and friends. In the afternoons she enjoyed taking walks in the park.
Never staying away too long she enjoyed summers traveling from Texas to California with her husband in their motor home.
Maria is survived by five of her six children, Anna Hall, Richard Gonzalez, Carlos Gonzalez, Barbara Cisneros, Angela Gonzalez, (Kathy Schell our beloved sister having passed just a few years ago).
Maria has 6 children, 17 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
A visitation and services will be held at the Rubidoux funeral home located at 6091 Mission Blvd, Riverside, CA 92509 on Thursday September 19, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 PM.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 1:50 PM at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery 966 POTRERO DR ROSEMEAD, CA 91770.
Maria is a loving inspiration to all and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends, she will forever live on in our hearts, minds and souls.
