Louis Samuel Willis, was born on July 26, 1940 to Fred and Laura Willis in Waterproof,
Louisiana. He was the youngest of three to this union and nine additional siblings.
Louis gave his life to Christ at an early age and as an adult he accepted Allah as his personal
Lord and savior. He was a true solider for Allah and a F.O.I for the Nation of Islam.
Louis received his early education in Ferriday, Louisiana school district where he graduated
from Sevier High school in 1961. Upon graduation he attended Coahma Junior College
where he played baseball. Shortly, after he was drafted into the military in 1962 where he
served honorably. Louis had a love for driving trucks and went on to pursue a career as a
truck driver for over 30 years until he retired in 2019.
Louis met the love of his life of 47 years, Margaret and together they shared in raising their
children. A Perfect example of a blended family. Lardell, Donell, Raymond, Prudence,
Desmond Protchea, Phillis (preceded in death) and Kevia.
Louis affectionally known as “Cap” was equally passionate about music and sports. He loved
playing the saxophone, singing and listening to music. He was in a band in his younger days.
He also enjoyed watching basketball, football and baseball.
Louis leaves to cherish his memories: the love of his life, Margaret, his children Lardell,
Donell, Raymond, Prudence, Desmond Protchea, and Kevia; his siblings Joe, Greene,
Robert, Charles, Willie, Birdie, Ester and Dorthy; as well as a host of grandchildren, great-
grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
