Lashan Brown Obituary

LaShon Marie Brown Algere' was born to the late James Brown Jr. and her living mother Helen Brown, a Longshoreman and a homemaker, in Los Angeles, CA at General Hospital on September 21, 1974. She was a honor roll graduate from class of 1992 at Crosby High School in Crosby, TX. As a young girl, LaShon sang in the youth choir at Emanuel Baptist Church. One of her favorite songs to sing was “Going Back to Yonder” and “Take Me To King”. LaShon enjoyed to sing, read, the arts and crafts like the beautiful jewelry she would create. She also loved to cook so much, she worked at Krogers Deli for some years.

LaShon was blessed with a large and loving family. She married her best friend the late Anthony-Chris Algere’ in Baytown, TX. LaShon raised three children with a sweet optimistic soul. She taught them to be strong on how to handle any obstacle life may endure. She loved to spend time with all her children and her two grandchildren, including her late dog Jenjer who brought so much joy.

LaShon instilled courage and strength to her children to help them thrive in their lives. She was strong, kind, sweet with a personality that would brighten up the room. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones.

LaShon is survived by her daughters Le’Shanae N. Algere’ and Ke’Arra Algere’; her son Anthony D.J. Algere’; grandchildren Ja’Zaivyon Lewis and Khris’Ziryah Gold. Her sisters Nicole Brown, Tyhesra White Mcferson, Julean Wilburn, and Dominique Brown; brother James Brown III. She is preceded in death by her husband, father, and grandparents Ernestine Cambell, Gladys and Jimmy Brown Sr.

My mama was a sweet yet optimistic soul. I love the fact that I inherited her energy because she always had what it took to brighten the room on command. She was a lover, but fought even harder for what she loved. There wasn’t a limit when it came to her making sure we were straight at all cost. My mama was a SOLDIER, through every battle, obstacle and tree stick thrown in her spoke, she THRIVED and I will forever love and respect her for that. I thank her for my strength, my courage, my wisdom, understanding, and unconditional love she instilled in me , without her I definitely wouldn’t be the great person I am today.   I tip my hat off to you Marie, YOU GO GIRL! Being strong is all you’ve ever taught me, so please know because of your absence I'll only get stronger from here. You were my anchor and now I'm literally yours, so rest well knowing your offsprings are forever safe with me.    Forever In Your Heart, Snook           Letter to my mama…. I want thank you mama. I thank you for bringing me into this world and showing me how to be a young, strong, independent beautiful black women. I thank you for the courage you have instilled in me to always stand up for what I want and what I believe in. I thank you for putting the courage in me to always believe in myself and that I can always achieve anything I put my mind to. I thank you for the powerful voice you have given me to embrace on the things I feel is wrong and also for those I know is right. I thank you for wisdom you have given me to always remain strong through all battles no matter how tough they maybe. I thank you for this beautiful brain you have given me to thrive and be something amazing one day.   Although you may no longer be here in the physical you’ve always been through every step with me spiritually, so I know I’ll be okay. May you rest now and best believe you have instilled into us enough strength to know that we are going be alright.   We love you girl forever and always!   Sincerely, The Baby of the Tribe, Keke Mamas
