Larry Valles Obituary

With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Larry Joe Valles.

His earthly journey concluded March 28, 2025 and leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Born to Cathy and Salvador Valles in Roswell, New Mexico, Larry's life began on July 2, 1966. He spent his formative years in Carson, California, and the Harbor Area of Los Angeles County, where he cultivated deep roots and lasting friendships.

Larry's life was enriched by the love and pride he held for his three children, Cassandra, Alexis, and Nicolas, who were the very essence of his being and the brightest stars in his sky.

He is also lovingly remembered by his younger brother, Salvador, his sister, Linda, and his cherished grandchildren, Alina and Jeremiah.

From his youth through his later years, Larry possessed an extraordinary athletic talent and an unwavering passion for all sports. His sister Linda recalls many baseball games at Scott Park, where his father coached gamed and his mother worked the snack bar.

Many who knew him will fondly recall his love for basketball or him fixed on televised basketball and boxing matches. His children hold dear the memories of him sharing sports statistics and displaying his masterful skills in video games.

A devoted Lakers fan, Larry often reminisced about the iconic era of Magic Johnson, Elden Campbell, Shaquille O'Neal, and Kobe Bryant, his enthusiasm infectious to those around him.

Among the treasured memories his children hold are the simple yet profound moments of sharing Chinese food, a time when stories flowed and bonds deepened.

His pride in Cassandra, Alexis, and Nicolas was boundless, and he spoke of their accomplishments and lives with unwavering affection to anyone who would listen. They were, without a doubt, the light of his life.

Larry's family will be holding a celebration of life service at 11:30 am - 2:30 pm, May 3, 2025 at Ebenezer family church 415 W. Torrance blvd Carson Ca.
