LINO GARCIA Obituary

With a heavy heart yet a celebration of a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Lino Tesillo Garcia. Lino, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, left us peacefully on May 16, 2024, at the age of 71 in Loma Linda, CA, after a brave battle with cancer. Born on June 23, 1952, in Los Angeles, CA, Lino's journey was one marked by dedication, love, and a zest for life that touched everyone he met.

Lino's educational achievements were a testament to his belief in the power of knowledge. After serving his country as an Electronic Technician in the US Navy, he continued his pursuit of education, earning a BA in Business, and a Single Subject Secondary Math and Technology Credential from Cal State San Bernardino, both at the Palm Desert and main campus. His passion for education translated into a fulfilling career, first as a technician at Xerox, then inspiring young minds as a high school math teacher, and later sharing his expertise in computers at a business college.

Lino's life was a tapestry woven with love for his family and friends. He found his soulmate with Suzie, and together they navigated 20 years of joys and challenges as man and wife. Lino was a loving stepfather to Justin, Veronica, and April. Always a positive role model; Lino guided; supported; and encouraged them to succeed in life  He delighted in meeting Miles, Luke, and Kaden, who he knew not by sight; but was blessed to have known them nonetheless. They meant so much to Lino in the end.

Lino also dearly loved each of his siblings, Sam, Ozzie, Dino, Stella and Angie; who  fondly remember him as a beacon of strength and camaraderie.

Always a man of many interests, Lino's presence was a staple at family get-togethers, where his infectious laughter and storytelling were the highlights of many gatherings. His love for music was profound; he could often be found listening and singing along to his favorite old school songs, much to the delight of those around him. An avid foodie and restaurant connoisseur, Lino explored the culinary landscape with gusto, sharing his discoveries; and critiques with anyone who shared his passion for good food.

Lino's dedication to his faith was unwavering, with his service every Sunday at Destiny Church being a cornerstone of his week. His spiritual journey was one of deep faith, compassion, and community, traits that he embodied in every aspect of his life.

His two dogs, Violet and Petunia, were more than pets; they were loyal companions who brought him immense joy and comfort. Lino's culinary skills extended beyond his love for dining out; he was also a talented chef who enjoyed cooking up a storm in the kitchen, always eager to share his creations with loved ones.

As we bid farewell to Lino, we remember a man who lived life to the fullest, with a heart that knew no bounds, and a spirit that was as generous as it was indomitable. He has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him, and his legacy will continue to inspire and guide us. Lino Tesillo Garcia's story is one of love, resilience, and the enduring power of family and faith. May he rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who loved him.
