Gary C. Peña, 80 years old, passed away on February 20, 2025, surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren in Riverside, California. Born on October 12, 1944, in Riverside, he spent his life deeply connected to the community he called home. Gary dedicated his career to public service, retiring from the State of California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation as a Parole Supervisor III after 35 years of service. His work reflected his commitment to fairness and guidance, leaving a lasting impact on those he worked with throughout the years. Beyond his professional life, Gary was a man of boundless energy and warmth. He had an electric personality that could light up any room, making friends wherever he went. His generosity and kindness were evident in the way he made everyone feel included and valued. Whether striking up conversations with strangers or sharing laughter with loved ones, Gary had a way of bringing people together. One of his greatest joys was supporting his grandchildren in all their endeavors. He rarely missed a sports game or school event, always cheering them on with pride. Watching them receive awards brought him immense happiness. Mornings were often spent enjoying coffee with his close-knit group of friends—simple moments that meant the world to him. Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria; his son, Gary Peña; his daughters, Genice (Tommy) Corona and Genelle (Curt) Valencia; and his cherished grandchildren: Jazmine, Derek, Domminic, Maddison, Evan, Brooklyn, Bradley, and Gianni. He was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Peña. Gary’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on through the love he shared and the countless lives he touched.
