Eliseo “Alex” Chavez Espinoza was born July 15, 1939 on a farm outside of Las Cruces, New Mexico to Rosario Cardenas Chavez and Juan Ramon Espinoza. He spent the first part of his life in the Palo Verde Valley, calling Ripley, CA home. He moved to the Inland Empire in the late 1960’s, eventually settling in Bloomington, CA. He was a Bloomington resident for 54 years. He was a member of the local MAC for a number of years and was influential in bringing much needed features to local parks, streets and the community.
Alex was a farm mechanic and also applied these skills while serving in the Army Reserves from 1957 to 1965. During his time in the Army Reserves, Eliseo achieved the rank of Sergeant. He worked for the Santa Fe railroad in its San Bernardino shop as a machinist in engine build up from 1971 to 1990. After his retirement, he dedicated his life to his family and community.
Eliseo “Alex” Espinoza was preceded in death by his children; Efren Espinoza, Juan Angel Espinoza, Irenia Espinoza II, and Esteve Espinoza. He is survived by his adoring wife of over 50 years, Irenia Espinoza. He is survived by his sisters Frances Espinoza, Rosalba Espinoza Castillo, and Rebbeca Espinoza Cazares his remaining children; Ernesto Espinoza, Eliseo Espinoza, Esperanza Espinoza Zamora, Juan Noriega, Eva Pement, Aurora Gaytan and David Espinoza. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He left this world March 24, 2023. He will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved him.
