It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Damien Lee Abner, who fought valiantly against cancer but ultimately lost his battle to pneumonia. His spirit, however, remains a beacon of inspiration for all who knew him.

From a young age, Damien was captivated by the world of music, embracing genres from classical to rock and hip-hop, with a particular passion for rap. His dedication to music led him to earn a degree in Music Theory and a bachelor’s degree in music business. One of his proudest achievements was interning at Death Row Records, where he fully immersed himself in the industry he adored.

As a talented music producer, Damien composed and wrote his own songs, often collaborating with his brother Eric, who brought his lyrics to life. Their bond was unbreakable, especially during Damien's battle, Eric stood by his side providing unwavering support, Eric was a true pillar of strength for Damien, asking for nothing in return.

He had a unique gift for lighting up a room with his infectious laugh and great sense of humor. His ability to make others laugh brightened even the darkest days, and he possessed an innate talent for connecting with people, genuinely inquiring about their lives. His warmth and kindness made everyone feel valued and appreciated.

Damien was also deeply passionate about his family’s heritage, dedicating countless hours to researching the Abney lineage and believing firmly in their rightful place in history. 

A cherished memory was the unforgettable moment he met the legendary Cheech Marin alongside his mother—an experience they will hold dear forever.

As the youngest of five siblings, Damien was cherished and deeply loved by his family. Despite being part of a large family, he always felt the warmth of equal love and support from his parents and siblings. His legacy of love, creativity, and determination will continue to live on through all of us.

Damien is survived by his loving parents, Eddie and Margie Abner, and his devoted siblings: Arlene, Desiree, Nicole, and Eric, who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. He was also a proud uncle to his nieces and nephews: Nadine, Gavyn, Abrielle, Evin, Isaac, Sofia, Liam, Charlotte, Archbold (Archie) and a baby girl on the way (TBN). Damien cherished his role as an uncle, and his love will continue to shine through the lives of these wonderful children.
