Carmen Johnston: 1928 - 2016



Riverside, CA Carmen Johnston, a long-time resident of Riverside died on Tuesday the 27th of September at her home.



Born the daughter of Panfilio and Francisca Fuentes in Tulare County, CA in 1928. Carmen was a nurse for over 20 years and was a volunteer in the community. Carmen volunteered her time at the Jurupa Mountains Discovery Center and at the Eddie D Smith Senior Center where she assisted in food distribution and other community activities. Carmen received many awards for her volunteering over the years from the community of Riverside where she was loved and admired by all who interacted with her.



Carmen enjoyed hobbies such as volunteering her time and services, dancing, cooking, traveling and watching Angels baseball. Carmen enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed but is now home with the Lord.



Carmen is the mother to David Alcantar and Catalina Bustos. Along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Carmen had 11 brother and sisters: Gregorio Fuentes, Teresa Fuentes Lopez, Francisco Fuentes, Jose Fuentes, Rita Fuentes Peraza, Marie de Jesus Fuentes Corona, Eduardo Fuentes, Panfilo Fuentes, Antonio Fuentes, Margarita Fuentes De Robles, and Alberta Fuentes.
