CHARLES SOWERS Obituary

Mr. Charles Michael Sowers, known affectionately by friends and family as Chuck, passed away peacefully at home on July 16, 2024, in Chino, California. Born on May 29, 1953, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, Chuck's warm smile and quick wit were a beacon of light to all who knew him.

Chuck is survived by his devoted wife, Theresa; his loving children, daughter Rachel Jordan and her husband Tom, and sons David and Steven Sowers; and his cherished grandchildren, Hailie, Lucy, and Benjamin. He was a beloved brother to Jerry and Nancy Hicks and preceded in death by his parents, Alick and Lois Sowers, sister Colleen Overall, brother John Sowers, and brother-in-law John Overall. His extended family of in-laws, nieces, and nephews held a special place in his heart, each of them touched by his kindness and wisdom.

A proud graduate of the University of New Mexico, Chuck earned his degree in Engineering, a field where he would excel and contribute significantly throughout his career. He spent many years working as an Aeronautical Engineer for both Lockheed Martin and Rockwell Collins, where his intelligence and meticulous nature led to many professional achievements.

Chuck was a passionate deep-sea fisherman, he found solace and joy in the rhythms of the ocean. His dexterity and patience were also evident in the intricate models he built, each piece a testament to his attention to detail. Music was another of Chuck's loves, and his epic record collection was a treasure trove of melodies and memories that he enjoyed sharing with others.

Above all, Chuck was a family man. His happiest moments were those spent surrounded by his family, whether it was a quiet evening at home or a lively gathering filled with laughter. His presence was a source of comfort and joy, and his stories enjoyed by many.

Described by those who knew him as loving, kind, and intelligent, Chuck lived a life that was rich in experiences and relationships. He approached every challenge with a level of thoughtfulness and care that made him respected in his professional life and deeply loved in his personal life.

As we say goodbye to Chuck, we celebrate the legacy of love and kindness he leaves behind. His impact on the world was as profound as the quiet strength he carried throughout his life. Though he will be dearly missed, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Chuck Sowers was a beacon of light and love in the lives of many, and his memory will be cherished forever.
