Carlos Ernesto Cordero, a beacon of warmth, knowledge, and kindness, passed away peacefully on November 2nd, 2024, in Riverside, California, at the age of 81. He was born in San Miguel, El Salvador on June 16th, 1943.
Carlos’s life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and enduring relationships with family and friends. Carlos moved to California from El Salvador in the early 1970’s to create a better life for himself. There he met his wife Maria "Daisy” and the two married in 1976. They were married for 48 years.
Carlos obtained a position working for the Weiser Lock company. He began as a Metal Polisher and then worked his way way up to become Plant Manager for many years before retiring. He spent his retirement doing the things he loved most in life which included working on cars or admiring exotic German cars from afar. He spent most of his retirement watching his family grow, imparting wisdom and the word of God unto them. He spent his days extensively studying The Bible, in prayer, and teaching to all who would listen. Carlos’s life was marked by dedication, love, and an unwavering spirit of loyalty to The Lord.
Carlos's life was a testament to his loving, selfless, and generous nature. He is survived by his beloved wife, Daisy, who stood by his side as a partner and confidante through every chapter of their life together. He was a guiding light to his five sons, and four daughters, imparting wisdom and kindness that will live on as his legacy. He was proceeded in death by two brothers and is survived by four brothers and a sister, whom he loved dearly.
As we bid farewell to Carlos Ernesto Cordero, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and passion. His was a journey filled with meaningful connections, selfless acts, and a boundless capacity to give. He leaves behind a world that is undeniably better for his presence, and a family that will carry forward his spirit of love and generosity.
We take comfort in knowing that Carlos's story does not end here. It continues in the laughter of his grand and great grandchildren, in the resilience of his sons and daughters, in the love he shared with Daisy, and in the friendships he cultivated over his 81 years. For wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories.
Romans 14:7-9
7 For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. 8 If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. 9 For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.
You can shed tears that he is gone or you can smile because he lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back or you can open your eyes and see all that he’s left.
Your heart can be empty because because you can’t see him or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember him and only that he’s gone or you can cherish his memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
Be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what he’d want:
Smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
