Barbara Santoyo Obituary

Barbara K Santoyo, 64, of Riverside, CA died peacefully on March 4, 2021, in her Riverside home, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 4, 1956 in North Hampton, Massachusetts to Edward and Verna (Alicia) Beam. The family later moved and settled in California. Barbara was the second of four children.

Barbara met the love of her life, Jose Santoyo, at a dance club in the 70’s. They later married on May 10, 1981, in Riverside, and raised three daughters together. Barbara and Jose enjoyed each other’s company which made for a great marriage. They celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary on May 10, 2020.

Barbara was a Lead Operator while working for the Penny Saver for many years until she left work to become a housewife and raise her family. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma, aunt, and family friend to all the neighborhood children. Barbara was known for her gift of love. She raised 3 daughters, multiple grandchildren, helped take care of her great-grandchildren and her nieces and nephews. She was always there for everyone and always took time to lend a listening ear.

Barbara was a baseball fan, like her mother, and loved watching the Los Angeles Dodgers. She also enjoyed traveling and vacationing. Some of her favorite vacations were camping, going to the river, San Felipe, Hawaii, New York, Vegas, and going on cruises with her family. Another thing that Barbara loved was going to Knott’s Berry Farm and riding roller coasters. Barbara always had a smile on her face and was known for her thoughtfulness, sense of humor, and always telling it like it was; she was very easy going. In the last few years, Barbara just loved being with family and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and play.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Jose of Riverside; and their three daughters, Cristal (Andres) Teles of Arkansas City, KS, Patricia (Javier) Alvarez of Riverside, CA, and Norma (Brad) Biagi of Riverside, CA. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, a great-grandson to be, two brothers, Edward Beam Jr. of Dubuque, IA, Richard A Beam of Riverside, CA, a sister, Nancy Beam of Bullhead City, AZ, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Verna (Alicia) Beam.

A Viewing and Service will be held Friday March 19, 2021 from 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM at Rubidoux Mortuary.
